Symbols

This is a little something I noticed throughout Final Fantasy VII and some other Final Fantasy's. Well first off usually there is a couple in each FF. As far as I know, Final Fantasy VI was Locke & Celes, Final Fantasy VII Cloud & Tifa, and Final Fantasy VIII(booo) Squall & Rinoa. The ones I noticed that it started in FF7 that there's a symbolic thing between the couples. Not just love, something else that when you see it, it reminds you of that character or characters.

I bring your attention to the symbol of Cloud & Tifa. "The starry sky of childhood" A couple times throughout Final Fantasy VII "the promise" was brought up. The adorable scene, were Cloud promises to be Tifa's hero, and protect her if she ever needed it.

But as Cloud & Tifa made thier promise a symbol was made. They made thier promise under the starry night sky. Much was used all throught FF7 between the couple. Like for instance, the issue of "the promise" was first brought up at Tifa's 7th Heaven. When Tifa tried to convince Cloud to join AVALANCHE. She says "you forgot the promise too.." and Cloud tries to remember that promise made. Later the issue is brought back as a link to Cloud remembering his "realself". Tifa tried to make him believe the night stars were real, and not just imaginary.

Part of the symbol is in the scene where Tifa is asleep on Cloud's shoulder. Notice, that it may not be the starry night but they use part of the night. Its not only in the game this symbol is used, but it is used in many many different types of fanart. Even in the CG pic of Tifa on the well. When you see those stars your suppossed to think Cloud & Tifa ^_^ That's the way I always thought of it hehe~ It just seemed so obvious. Another part of this revolves around Tifa's theme. People say Cloud does have a theme, some dont. Some people however seem to think that Tifa's theme is also Cloud & Tifa's theme, notice this, when Tifa brings up the issue of "the promise". Her theme has been playing for the longest time. And then the flashback comes up and everything. But if you REALLY listen to Tifa's theme you will hear two different parts and high part and a low part, like if a woman and a guy singing, and at the end of her theme the two join together. Listen to the midi on this page, you'll see. Ok so..that's my conclusion ^_^
